Hopkins Architects looks to expand Dubai office

Hopkins Architects, a firm which has been in Dubai since 2004, has been recruiting for its Dubai office, reported the UK’s Building Design.

Simon Fraser, practice partner, stated that the firm expected to have around 50 staff working in the office in the next few months as it plans to build on the growing optimism in the region.

He said that Hopkins currently has around 35 staff but is looking to increase this number by half again with an increase in projects in the Gulf and abroad.

“Dubai is not anywhere near what it was in the boom years but that’s probably a good thing,” he said. “It’s much more controlled. Back in 2007, people were desperately trying to build.”

Hopkins is also carrying out projects in Turkey and Japan from its Dubai office.
