A house will gradually change colour thanks to its untreated copper cladding – turning from golden brown to green to turquoise over the years.

The walls and roof of the property near Ghent, Belgium  have been designed by studio Graux & Baeyens Architecten.

“We wanted to integrate the house into the woody surroundings as much as possible,” architect Basile Graux said. “The copper gave us the opportunity to do that, as it will continuously change colour over the years.”

The two-storey residence is located in Destelbergen beside the remaining brick wall of a castle that was destroyed during the Second World War.
