Interior design firm, Blanchard and landscape architect, Adrian Matthews of The Vero Studio, will create two interactive features at this year’s Index exhibition.
Index Furnishings ‘Chic Green’ feature will be designed and presented by Blanchard.
Marie-Noelle Swiderski who set up the Dubai studio in 2006, is creating three spaces with her design director, Patrick LeLarge, that will showcase sustainable designs within interiors, displaying the process from concept to completion, including sustainable products.
“It is important that green design becomes an integral part of everyone’s creative and constructive thinking process; both professionals and private individuals have to do their part,” said Swiderski.
“The obstacles are still numerous, despite growing awareness due to concerns about cost, feasibility, impact of individual initiative, but also appearance.”
Contributions on the project include Nordic Homeworx, PaperStone, Caspaiou, Johnson Tiles, ARTE, Atelier Cyril Barret , Roca and Al Ghurair CEW.
‘Chic Green’ will feature three used freight containers that have been transformed into eco-chic living spaces in Sheik Rashid Hall, at Index Dubai World Trade Centre, from October 22-25.
Another sustainable feature relating to exterior design sees the collaboration of landscape architect, Matthews designing the ‘Sustainable Gulf Garden’, which will be built by Belhasa Projects, within Index’s new Outdoor Living section.
The Sustainable Gulf Garden will highlight eco-friendly ideas, sustainable products and features for commercial and residential gardens, patios, terraces and external spaces.
