Interior design studio FG stijl rebrands its Dubai office to GDS

Founders of Amsterdam and Dubai-based interior design studio FG stijl, Colin Finnegan and Gerard Glintmeijer, have divided their two offices, with each one dealing with their respective geographical areas, while remaining strategic partners.

The Dubai-based studio, formerly known as FG stijl Interior Design LLC Dubai has now been changed to GDS | Glintmeijer Design Studio LLC, and will be run by the same founder with the existing team and services.

The studio’s tag line for the rebrand is ‘the same founder, the same team, the same service, but easier to pronounce’.

The Amsterdam office will now be known by FG stijl Amsterdam by Colin Finnegan.

“This change is a culmination of adapting our company’s business strategy and way of working to the local market based on the founder’s profound understanding of clients’ expectations in the Middle East,” the firm said in a release.

“Another substantial change is our departure from classical European sensibility of luxury towards a refreshed, more contemporary approach to design and the type of spaces we make since establishing our Dubai office in July 2014,” the statement added.

Hyatt Centric the Palm

The firm’s Dubai arm is currently working on a number of high profile projects in the emirate, including revitalizing the Tiara Residence on the Palm Jumeirah into the Hyatt Centric the Palm for Wasl.

GDS will also be designing the fashion-inspired Vida Dubai Mall for Emaar Hospitality – a property of Vida Hotels & Resorts, as well as working on the design for the first Bellagio Resort and Private Villas by MGM.
