Partner at Hamilton International, Richard Mitchell, has decided to put his interior design career on hold to help build a cardiac centre in Gaza for children suffering from congenital heart disease.

Mitchell, who has been living in the UAE for the last 25 years, will ride across 30 countries over the next three months.

He plans to visit schools along the way to talk about his efforts and raising awareness for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

Mitchell will also engage with other charity organisations with plans to organise awareness campaigns in Italy and Istanbul.

“This journey is very special and personal; its all about the children of Gaza who are in need of urgent medical assistance to help treat their congenital heart conditions. I aim to gather support and raise awareness about the PCRF’s cause in building this medical facility,” said Mitchell.

He continued: “Many children are losing their lives due to the lack of adequate medical care and facilities and I intend to make a difference and do something about it.”

Mitchell is funding his entire trip to ensure all proceeds go toward the cardiac centre.

Starting in Dubai on April 14, 2013, Mitchell’s route will take him across countries including  Iran, Romania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Italy and the finally the United Kingdom.
