Deborah Blandford, furniture designer, will be one of the professors visiting UAE to teach a short course on interior design.
The courses organised by the Chelsea College of Art & Design (CCAD) and London College of Fashion (LCF), will see tutors from both colleges in Dubai to teach the 14 LCF and seven CCAD courses, – at the Pullman Dubai, Mall of the Emirates between October 13-28.
“This is a very exciting venture for all of us. We have international students on the short courses in London and many are from the Middle East,” said Blandford.
“They are often practicing designers or interior design students and they have always enjoyed and benefited from short courses at Chelsea College of Art & Design. By bringing our expertise to Dubai we are extending that experience to so many more people,” she added.
Blandford believes the courses bring something different to the Middle East region. “As far as we know, there is no other London based world-renowned institution delivering short courses in Interior Design in Dubai.”
The organisers are bringing a focused portfolio of courses to Dubai that will be suitable for all levels; from those who are practicing interior designers and wish to top up or refresh skills to those who have an interest in the subject and wish to learn more.
“We would encourage everybody to try a short course – they are practical, interesting and most important of all, fun,” she said.
Apart from Blandford, tutors from CCAD include Lyndall Fernie who has run her own interior design company, consulted and designed many high end residential projects and specialises in remodeling exiting projects, Sue McGregor an interior designer for Interior Statements that specialises in projects for hotels, residential developments, private and commercial properties.
