Travel website TripAdvisor has recommended the historical mausoleum of ancient poet Hafez, in Shiraz, Iran, as an important world site for tourism.
The tomb was awarded a certificate of excellence for the site’s unique architecture and the professionalism of its staff.
The site – the world’s largest dedicated to tourism – also expressed a positive view on the tomb’s visitor facilities.
Hafez tomb (or Hafezieh) is one of the most popular attractions of the Iranian southern city of Shiraz and is situated in a garden on the banks of Rukn-Abad river.
Built in 1773, the mausoleum acquired its present form in 1935 and was designed by the French architect and archaeologist André Godard.
