Islamic centre blends into Canadian forest and hills

Studio Senbel has designed an Islamic centre which blends into its geographic surroundings in British Columbia, Canada.

The Prince George Centre rises gently with the local topography against the backdrop of the forested escarpment. The roof forms were created with reference Levitra to the axis to Mecca.

The structure culminates in a minaret that rises above it. As well as being a symbolic element of Islamic architecture, the minaret assists in stack ventilation, contributing to the sustainable features of the building.
