Jean Novel’s Barcelona hotel is pierced with windows shaped like palm folds with a huge atrium filled with palm trees and a variety of tropical vegetation.
Ateliers Jean Nouvel teamed up with Ribas & Ribas ti design the 27-storey Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel for the Marriott hotel chain.
The building consists of a pair of 110m towers that are fused at the top by a rooftop restaurant, a terrace and swimming pool.
The space between is covered by glazing and creates a greenhouse-style atrium with staircases interspersed with greenery from five continents.
The windows that are shaped like leaves are positioned in front of some of the hotel’s 357 rooms.
