Jeddah lighting firm wins award for KSA project

MTTS wins International KNX Award

MTTS (Modern Times Technical Systems), in Saudi Arabia, has won an award for installing Somfy animeo KNX Controls at Princess Noura University (PNU) for Women in KSA.

MTTS won the International KNX Award (Asia category) for the installation and commissioning of the technology for lighting, shading and user controls and interfaces.

The integrated daylight and lighting system was installed at the university’s new 40,000-student campus as well as artificial lights in lecture halls, classrooms, offices, corridors and bathrooms.


Jeddah-based MTTS has smart controls for classrooms that can be divided up into smaller rooms, and fully automatic shading systems for large glazed window areas to protect against solar radiation and climate control.

The ceremony at Light + Building, Frankfurt, Somfy SAS presented an Outstanding Achievement Award to MTTS in recognition and appreciation of its installation and system integration of Somfy’s animeo KNX blinds automation controls in Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh – KSA.

Other projects where Somfy animeo Shading Controls technology is installed include Abu Dhabi Financial Center and Cleveland Clinic hospital at Sowwah Island, Sidra Medical & Research Center in Doha, Qatar, and Podium of Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai.
