UK-based organisation The Lighting Association will be supporting this year’s INDEX Lighting 2011 event.

Formed in 1939, the Lighting Association is the largest association in Europe, representing the lighting industry with around 190 members.

“We are extremely pleased to be linking up with INDEX Lighting this year as this will achieve our twin aims of promoting our members in the Middle East region whilst educating lighting suppliers, designers and manufacturers about what we do,” said Peter Hunt, chairman, Lighting Association.

“The Middle East has long been a target for international companies wishing to grow their export businesses and develop a client base in the region. As lighting is such a crucial part of the interiors mix in the Middle East, we want our members to explore this lucrative region, as there is a really strong opportunity for UK companies to export and grow their business with the Middle East market,” he added.

Hunt said the association was excited to begin a mutually beneficial relationship with the show and said INDEX will provide a great platform for its members to reach out to the Middle East region.

The association helps develop and influence regulations and industry standards while keeping its members fully informed of the latest legislation and developments.

“Having a well-known organisation such as the Lighting Association pledge their support to INDEX Lighting is a really valuable endorsement of the show and of its focus. INDEX Lighting is the Middle East’s only dedicated lighting design event. With support from global associations such as the Lighting Association we can continue to grow awareness of the show internationally, and ensure that it is well-attended by relevant industry design professionals,” said Naomi Barton, project manager, INDEX Lighting.
