Construction consultant Cyril Sweett has completed the refurbishment of a mosque in Oxford, which received the backing of a UAE charitable trust.

The mosque is situated in the centre of the historic UK university town, and forms part of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.

A spokesperson for Cyrill Sweett told Middle East Architect: “It’s a magnificent project…no expense has been spared, with Italian marble and woodwork from the Middle East.”

This building blends the architectural features of the traditional Oxford colleges with the forms and styles of the classical period of Islam.
