Massive Dubai waterfront project revealed in miniature

A waterfront development in Dubai featuring a life-sized pirate ship has been unveiled in a 1-150th scale diorama created by 3dr Models.

The model making company constructed a 1:150 scale miniature recreation of the Meraas project for the Jumeirah beachfront which also includes two marinas and large scale leisure and residential developments.

3dr Models’ CEO Dani Bterrani said: “With all the new high-tech technologies available in the market these days, still nothing portrays a project as vividly as a physical model. It is the only way that the viewer can decide where to look and at what angle.”

Meraas Holdings say the development is in line with Dubai’s stated aim of attracting 20 million visitors in 2020.

The company said: “Conceptualised to integrate a minimalist and contemporary design, La Mer’s pristine location will ensure uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s iconic skyline,”

The residential neighbourhoods will comprise a total of 688 apartments and villas as well as a hotel to meet the expected influx of tourists.
