Architectural mega-projects across Dubai must ensure they incorporate open space say municipal authority representatives.
They are calling on architects and developers to prioritise green landscaping when building designs are being put together.
The call comes as large scale projects are seeing a notable rise, due to an increase in market confidence and the successful Expo 2020 bid.
The Middle East Smart Landscape Summit 2014, taking place on 6 and 7 May at Sofitel Dubai is to debate the issue and is set to attract more than 400 senior landscape architects, government authorities, urban planners, developers, environmental specialists and contractors.
Solar power will be another subject on the agenda, with plans for a naturally generated energy pumping system to irrigate Dubai’s parks and landscaped roundabout set to be revealed.
