OBE Architects are set to design a $210m conference centre in Dubai which will include hotels, restaurants and shops when completed.
The 10,000 capacity centre will be built on a 55,000m2 site in Al Jaddaf facing Festival City near the just-opened Versace Hotel, as well as the upcoming Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Library..
Director general of Dubai Municipality Hussain Nasser Lootah said the project will be in “a magical location with a distinctive panoramic view of Dubai Creek, considered a perfect destination for business people and tourists”.
The Dubai Conference Centre will feature two hotels – a 33-floor three-star hotel and a 48 floor four-star hotel – as well as a 36-floor office building.
Connecting the conference halls and the hotels will be The Concourse, a covered, air-conditioned glass corridor designed like a boulevard, with shops and restaurants spread over its 150m stretch.
