Further details of a plan to turn six Dubai metro stations into art galleries and to decorate bridges have been released.
The Roads and Transport Authority and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority say Burjuman Station will be transformed into a music and art gallery, Emirates Towers Station will be turned into an Islamic decorations and manuscripts gallery, Financial Centre Station will be home to a coins display, the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Station will be converted into an e-library, and the Business Bay Station will be a photo gallery.
Also Noor Bank Station will house a display from the Museum of Contemporary Art showcasing artifacts, paintings, designs and sculptures created by artists from all over the world.
The stations will host a variety of artistic performances, including synchronising music with the movement of the metro and light shows on the rooftops of stations.
The project is due for completion in March 2015.
