Turkish pool up for World Architecture Festival award

A swimming pool complex by Turkish architects Erginolglu & Calislar has been shortlisted for the World Building of the Year award at the World Architecture Festival.

The pool is partially embedded into a grassy mound with a reflecting roof structure on top, facing the surface of the pool.

The grassy roof is intended to blend in with the landscape while the upper dome, which contains the mirrored underside, reflects the greenery of the space.

Three pools are located inside the dome and another star-shaped pool is placed alongside the main building.

However, there are no plans to build the project due to financial issues.

The World Architecture Festival will take place from 3-5 October in Singapore.
