The architecture firm behind Sowwah Square in Abu Dhabi, Goettsch Partners (GP), has set up an office in the emirate to capitalise on opportunities.
Located in Sowwah Square’s Al Sila Tower, also known as Tower 1, the GP office will be led by Steven M. Nilles, a partner in the firm and resident of Abu Dhabi.
Nilles’ team includes architects that have spent the last several years living and working in the area, along with other professionals that have relocated from the GP office in Chicago.
James Goettsch, president of Goettsch Partners, said: “We are excited about our new Abu Dhabi home and talented team. Our goal is to provide exceptional service and apply our global design expertise throughout the region.
“We are pleased to be here working on several innovative and environmentally responsive urban developments — ones that address the local context and culture and define a vibrant future.”
In addition to the four-towered Sowwah Square, GP is also working on Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residence, Wyndham Grand Riyadh in King Abdullah Financial District, a commercial office tower for Al Hilal Bank, Abu Dhabi, and Capital Market Authority Headquarters, Riyadh.
The Abu Dhabi office is the firm’s third global location, in addition to Chicago and Shanghai.
The opening of the office coincided with a new brand identity, including a logo, which reflects an integrated global approach.
Goettsch added: “The new visuals reflect the firm’s evolution. As the practice grows, we continue to operate as a single firm to create innovative and intelligent forms that solve distinct challenges.”
