Riyadh Exhibitions Company, a leading organiser of trade fairs and public events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently organised a conference to establish Saudi Build – Interiors, a premier custom-built show to address the country’s expanding interior and contracting fit outs industry.
The country’s market reached $3.6bn in 2014 and is expected to grow at a rate of 7% during 2015. At the moment, the country boasts $784bn worth of projects currently underway, making the KSA the region’s strongest building sector in terms of the number and size of projects lined up for the next couple of years.
Saudi Build – Interiors is set to take place from 5 – 8 April, 2016 in the capital city and will be a meeting place for key industry players and experts from around the world, offering products and solutions to developers, architects, interior designers, consultants and importers.
Fadi Kaddoura, vice president of international sales and business development, IFP Group, says: “We all know the immense size and value of Saudi Arabia’s construction sector, but it is also important to highlight the significance of the most prominent and complementary sector of the domestic construction industry: interior design.
“Studies indicate that the Kingdom’s interior design market has the highest growth rate among all other sectors, having expanded by 125% in the last decade and poised to grow by 17% over the next two years. This clearly indicates a massive surge in demand, bringing countless opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers alike.”
According to Kaddoura, last year’s spending on interior design services and equipment across the residential, commercial and tourism sector reached $3.5bn. It was during this period when the country imported $4bn worth of textiles for curtains, upholstery and other interiors items, $500m worth of lighting equipment and suppliers, and $3.5bn worth of furniture.
Kaddoura says that the already large numbers are predicted to increase not only because of the construction projects coming to completion, but also because of the trending interest among the country’s youth in interior design.
He explains: “Saudi Build – Interiors will provide its visitors the opportunity to network with local, regional and international industry leaders and gain a comprehensive overview of the latest and best industry offerings.
“Additionally, we are planning a specialised conference to run concurrently with the exhibition that will discuss the latest and most prominent topics and industry trends and updates, all of which are expected to be of great value to all participants.”
