Smart Box Industries refurbished three 40-foot shipping containers to transform it into an outdoor café at MEC and PMV live at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The purpose-built facility is designed to be both aesthetically appealing and practical.
“Our in-house team of architects developed a unique structure that is eye catching and functional. Smart Box allows the freedom of ‘user driven design’ to be translated into professional architecturally engineered construction,” said Arjun Menon, MD, Smart Box.
Nathan Waugh, event manager MEC and PMV Live, said the Smart Box outdoor café adds an element of originality and excitement to the exhibition.
SMART modules can be relocated in a clean and environmentally conscious manner once their given use has expired. The life expectancy of a SMART module is about 50 years, subject to regular maintenance.
“Containers will null the need for wood and other materials, which are becoming more and more precious. Our recycled products lessen the need to mine new materials, and offer consumers new and sustainable solutions,” added Menon, whose company received a bronze at the green GAIA Awards.
Middle East Concrete (MEC) will be a one-stop shop covering everything from raw materials and logistics to precast products/ training and certification in the industry.
PMV Live is a brand new event which offers a mix of products, technology, machinery and live demonstrations for anyone involved in the Plant, Machinery and Vehicles sector.
The Smart Box Outdoor Café will operate daily from 11am to 7pm at the outdoor area in the Plaza opposite Sheikh Saeed Hall 3, DWTC throughout the event.
