Bollywood action man Suniel Shetty took time out from his acting and producing career to help launch a new product for sustainable design in Dubai.
The star partnered with FlexStone, an artificial stone cladding material made from recycled materials which can be used on building exteriors and interiors. in hotels, restaurants and residential projects.
Shetty was in a light-hearted mood in front or reporters and TV crews. He said: ‘The material is known for its strength, flexibility and durability. It’s also trying to look good. So I think I have a few things in common with it.”
It can be made to resemble bricks, stone or wood and has been successfully marketed across North America. The product is now available in the UAE.
Shetty, who has played heroes, villains and comical roles in more than 80 blockbuster movies and is a black belt full-contact kickboxer seems an unlikely ambassador for a building product.
But he also runs a real estate company and that was where he first encountered FlexStone.
“I was looking for cladding material for a residential project I was involved in.” he said. “When I looked into the market I discovered FlexStone and ended up using it in all 25 villas. It’s a green product, made of waste material, which is something I am very much in favour of.”
The promotion of FlexStone is part of a drive inspire by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modhi to boost the country’s exports.
