A film celebrating the life and work of architect Harry Seidler, who is credited with bringing modernism to Australia, will be premiere at the Sydney Opera House later this year.
The film, titled “Harry Seidler: Modernist”, showcases his u forward-thinking creativity and will be shown on October 22.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A discussion with the film’s director, Daryl Dellora, academic of modernism, Dr Paola Favaro and wife to the late Harry Seilder, Penelope Seilder.
“This promises to be a very important evening for all who are interested in an architecture that expanded modernism beyond form and function.
“Harry Seidler transformed Sydney through his work and perhaps even more so, through ideas still relevant today that have defined our distinctive design culture,” the Australian Institute of Architects Foundation chair, Emeritus Professor Alec Tzannes said.
