Sharjah venue for architectural heritage course

The Royal Institute of British Architects has launched a worldwide conservation drive for 2015 and a course is being held in Sharjah next month.

It takes place from March 7 to 10 at the ICCROM-ATHAR Regional Conservation Centre and attendees can book via

Application of conservation principles, use of relevant materials, repair and renovation, performance and energy usage along with site visit will all form parts of the event.


RIBA said: “Attending the course will help to develop critical awareness and knowledge of conservation work and be of direct practical application.”

Course leaders will be conservation architect Keith Knight and historic buildings specialist Aylin Orbasli.
