Shortlist announced for first three categories of Middle East Architect Awards

The shortlist for the first three categories of the Middle East Architect Awards has been officially announced.

This year’s event saw a record-breaking 214 entries in total with 15 separate categories – culminating in Architect of the Year.

Nominations came from across the GCC and also included entries from the wider Middle East.


Winners will be announced on Wednesday November 19 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Residential Project of the Year shortlist:

Kouhsar House – Next Office

 Nirvana House – AGi Architects

 Palme Couture – Oncuoglu

 Palm Loft – Studio Bruno Guelaff

 Al Khor Residential Community – tangramGulf

 Sharif-ha House – Next Office

 Varyap Meridien – RMJM


 Sustainable Project of the Year shortlist:

 DEWA Solar Innovation Centre – Ted Jacobs Engineering

 Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park – WSP

 Ras al Hamra International School – Petroleum Development Oman

 Community/Cultural Project of the Year shortlist:

 Al Nadi Tower – A C Meyerhans Architecture

GEMS International School – Godwin Austen Johnson

Urban Gallery of Historic Grand Mosque of Ardabil City – Memar Studio

Shams Monument – BNS CO
