Coil + Drift
The Soren Chair celebrates a minimal aesthetic as well as the natural beauty of its materials, ash wood and leather. A bold circular arch backrest that is lined fits seamlessly into vertical uprights, creating a bold statement.
Five Finger Furnishings
Couture-trained fabric artist and designer, Maki Yamamoto and Melissa Dougherty of Five Finger Furnishings, introduce their first collaboration, the Gendo Collection at ICFF. Each piece of the collection, including the Saidai Sofa, features a collage of handmade and collectible textiles, created and combined to project texture, shape and movement, including pleats, painterly colour, and hand-sewn lines.
Described as a contemporary take on traditional Samoan weaving techniques, the Flax Daybed combines Paul Smith plaids for Maharam and subtle to bright hues inspired by the ‘70s and old Hollywood interiors. The Brooklyn-made Flax collection line also includes cubes and ottomans.
m.a.d Furniture Design
Made of formed steel tube with a powder coated finish and molded plywood seat, the contract grade quality of the Sling Barstool is suited for the workplace, hospitality and at home. The collection also includes a chair and lounge, all of which stack for easy shipping and storage.
The expressive design of the COCO collection comes from a desire to explore the potential of using two simple and graphic planes in juxtaposition. Designed by Mark Gabbertas, the flexible connection between the seat and the back allows the backrest to move with the weight of the user.
These exhibitors and more will be among the 700+ brands featured at ICFF, held May 14-17, 2016, at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
