Plastic cockroaches forming the words HAPPY and LIFE, a badminton court which has a fence for a net and a life-sized rhinoceros are all part of Art Stage Singapore.

The sixth edition of the contemporary art fair runs until Sunday at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, is set to showcase works from 173 galleries from 34 countries.

It will also feature a talk by architect Rem Koolhaas and a special section on video art, with a travelling multimedia exhibition inside a tent to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the art movement Dadaism.

Fair president and founder Lorenzo Rudolf, said the event has an important role to play in bringing together different art scenes and players in a region with “very segmented” markets.
