Firefighters were on site, spraying water on the titanium-clad facade of the building, adorned in Islamic-style geometric patterns.
According to Kuwait Times, five fire stations worked to put out the fire in 15 minutes. There were no reported casualties.
The overall centre consists of four angular buildings with perforated arabesque patterns, with an aim to host an array of cultural events.
