Dubai Opera House designer Atkins has announced a 6% increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2016.
Releasing its figures in pounds sterling the firm says it achieved a turn-over of £1.86bn
This figure represents a profit before tax of £139m which the firm said is ahead of market expectations.
Among the reasons given for the figures is a strong performance in the Middle East driven by the Central Planning Office in Qatar.
Other factors include a significant improvement in UK and Europe Markets, along with two recent major transportation project wins in North America which will underpin the workload into the new financial year
The company added it was a difficult year for energy, although good growth was achieved in in nuclear power and renewables
A statement said: “Overall, we remain confident for the year ahead despite continued uncertainty in some of our markets.”
