TDIC and Louis Vuitton to develop new mall for Saadiyat Island


The Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) and L Real Estate- the property development and investment fund by LVMH- has announced a joint venture to create one of the emirate’s largest malls to be located in Saadiyat Island.

Connecting to Abu Dhabi’s three major cultural projects- the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Guggenheim and the Zayed National Museum- the 168,000m2 ‘District’ Mall will form a unique space between the thee museums.

Construction is scheduled to start this year with a completion date planned for 2017 in correspondence to the opening of Abu Dhabi Guggenheim Museum.


“This new retail destination ideally sits among Saadiyat’s inspiring museums, beautiful landscape and coastal environment and will be a regional attraction and a highly prized sought-after project location for Abu Dhabi’s communities and visitors when it opens by 2017,” said TDIC’s chairman, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.
