Atlanta-based architecture and design firm tvsdesign has appointed Jamal Salem to its Dubai office as the managing director for the MENA region. Salem joins the firm as new project work for this region grows since the firm’s Dubai office opened more than a dozen years ago.
“Jamal’s extensive international experience, combined with his ability to manage large-scale projects, will create more growth opportunities for our firm in the Middle East and North Africa,” said Becky Ward, senior vice president of practice for tvsdesign. “He’ll be instrumental to our Dubai office’s continued success and leadership in the region.”
Salem joins tvsdesign’s Dubai office with more than two decades of experience spanning four continents. His portfolio includes projects in hospitality, mixed-use, residential, retail and master planning. His focus over the last 12 years has been in the Middle East, where he collaborated on projects with many companies in the region such as United Development Company (UDC), Emaar, Tameer, Wasl, Aldar/Sorouh, Tamouh, TDIC, Equinox, Al Ra’idah, Dhamani and ABC.
Drawing from his design and project management experience, Salem has designed for major hospitality brands such as Westin, Hilton and W Hotel.
Other completed works include The Outlet Mall in Dubai, the award-winning Dhamani flagship store and the ABC Verdun Mall in Beirut that is currently under construction.
