Twisting wind tower proposed for Taiwan

Images of a twisting tower for Taiwan, which incorporates wind turbines, have been released by Beijing-based Decode Urbanism Office (DUO).

Wind-driven turbines attached to the facade will produce enough energy to supply building, according to a report in eVolo.

A diamond-type wind generator is fixed in the middle of a façade grid, with a net structure.

The project description reads:  “When the weather vane is parallel with the vertical face, the overall appearance of the tower is shown.”

“On the other hand, when wind blows [across] the mysterious veil of the tower building, the weather vane is vertical to the façade and the tower building becomes transparent.”
