The winner of the Best Motor Yacht of the Year award, the M.Y. Eclipse, had its interiors fitted out by UAE-based Greenline Yacht Interiors (GLYI).
The largest privately owned yacht in the world won the award at the 6th annual World Superyacht Awards event in Guildhall, London.
GLYI was responsible for the complete fit-out of 2,500 square meters out of the total interior space, which included the guest, VIP and owner’s areas of the 162.50m motor yacht, which was built at the Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg and designed by Terence Disdale.
“Greenline Yacht Interiors is very proud to have been involved in this unique project. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail involved in the fit-out of this motor yacht is testimony to the skill of our people,” said Samir Badro, chairman and CEO, GLYI.
“Having our work recognized as a part of this award-winning yacht demonstrates that Greenline Yacht Interiors is a highly respected interior outfitting company and that we compete alongside the best fit-out firms in the global superyacht industry,” he added.
The M.Y. Eclipse was delivered at the end of 2010.
GLYI has been involved in projects associated with designers such as Philippe Starck, Terence Disdale, Francois Zuretti and Donald Starkey. The company has recently built the world’s largest yacht interiors factory at their headquarters in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.
“Greenline’s latest technology complements the high quality craftsmanship that transforms our customer’s vision into reality,” said Samir Badro. “We are honoured to continuously have the opportunity to work with the best designers and shipyards that cater for high net worth individuals which help us retain our place among global leaders in the yacht outfitting business.”
