Dubai’s first purpose-built multi-format performing arts theatre,Dubai Opera in Downtown, overlooks the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain, designed by Atkins.
Set to open on 31 August, Dubai Opera will offer an acoustic concert hall and a 2,000m2 flat floor event space.
The venue will welcome a varied programme of cultural and lifestyle events including operas, ballet, classical performances, musicals, Arab and World Music, comedy, film, family entertainment, and rock, pop and jazz concerts.
It will seat up to 2,000 people for a theatrical production, and up to 1,000 for a gala dinner.
Emaar‘s Dubai Opera’s transparent all-glass foyer opens onto the waterfront of Burj Lake, and serves as a transition between a plaza and theatre.
With a built-up area of over 35,500m2, Dubai Opera is an integral part of The Opera District, a dedicated cultural and lifestyle hub launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
