Walter Knoll to sponsor interior design golf society

Upholstery and office furniture manufacturer, Walter Knoll, has agreed to sponsor this year’s Furniture and Interiors Golf Society (FIGS) tournaments.

The group, which was set up by Nick Burnett, associate design director, arki group design, in September 2010, is always looking for new male and female members and sponsors.

The association started with 12 people but now has 24 players on its register and meets every quarter at Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, Dubai. The next meet-up is in March.

“FIGS is for interior designers and architecture professionals who love golf and want to socialise with members of their industry,” said Burnett.

“The idea is that if you are an architect, interior designer, project manager, MEP consultant or contractor, that is, anybody involved within furniture and interiors, you can get out on the golf course, relax and play some sport.”

Former sponsors include; Human Scale, ergonomics medical company, Hayworth Innovate, My Office and Hacker Kitchens.

“Walter Knoll supports the community of architects, designers and clientele because they are the ones who understand, value and build our brand,” said Suresh Abraham, regional manager Middle East and Southwest Asia, Walter Knoll.

“Sponsoring FIGS  is our small gesture to show our support and gratitude to the local interiors industry. I believe FIGS, as an initiative, will develop into a good platform to bring the people of this industry together.”

FIGS members include; Laim King, Human Space, Patrick Taylor, Okamura, Soren Kraen, Xworks, Chris Morely, Herman Miller, Ernie Barratt, Innovate, Raj Ranavaya, Hacker Kitchens, Jayne Wasbourne, Ishtar, Julian Martin, Acoulite, Siddath Peters, The Total Office and Jason Ebbett, Orange box.
