Ayyam Auctions will hold its eighth public sale of this year’s first installment of the Young Collectors Auction on May 20.
The auction will include 65 lots of contemporary art from established and emerging Arab and Iranian artists.
Some of the Middle East artists whose work is up for bidding include Nadim Karam, Sabhan Adam, Fouad Elkoury, Othman Moussa and Alfred Tarazi.
Since 2009, the biannual Young Collectors Auction has attracted buyers from across the Middle East. The auction aims to offer art collectors the chance to own work by some of the biggest names in regional art at affordable prices.
The Young Collectors Auction is designed to be more accessible and less formal, with estimates that range from $750 to $8,000.
The viewing of lots will take place during May 16-19, 2011 from 10am-8pm at the Ayyam Art Centre in Dubai, with the auction starting at 6pm on May 20, 2011.
