Zaha Hadid Architects is one of five studios to have presented proposals for a skyscraper in the Swedish city of Gothenberg.
The 200m tower, which is set to become Scandinavia’s tallest building, will be visible from across the city, providing the region with a distinctive landmark.
The project was initiated by the Serneke group more thamn a decade ago and has just been revived.
The tower is part of a larger development covering 32,000m2. Its masterplan comprises residential accommodation, office space and a variety of retail outlets, intended to create an integrated and sustainable neighborhood.
The four other finalists are: Ian Simpson Architects, Manuelle Gautrand, SOM and Entasis Wingardhs. A jury will announce winner of the competition on June, 17 2014.
