Gensler continues design for Denver International Airport

Picking up after Spanish architect Calatrava’s design, Gensler will be continuing the project for Denver International Airport’s south terminal redevelopment project.

The new redevelopment project is currently under construction and will contain a 14-floor, 500- room Westin Hotel, a conference centre, a public transit centre with a new rail line that connects visitors to downtown Denver’s union station, as well as a public plaza to host community events.

Focusing primarily on materials such as concrete and steel, Gensler’s additions feature a fluid contemporary look.

Scheduled for completion by 2015, the $500m is expected to create 600-700 construction and design jobs as well as jobs that are associated with the hotel.
